Passing Paws Pet Cremations has entered a 12-month partnership with RSL WA to support veterans and their families across Western Australia.
For our team in Neerabup, this partnership is especially meaningful. Passing Paws is a veteran-owned Western Australian business and a long-standing supporter of RSL WA. The partnership gives us another opportunity to support members of the veteran community and their families during the difficult experience of saying goodbye to a much-loved pet.
A partnership grounded in service
Passing Paws CEO Lee Cassell is a British Army veteran who served with the Corps of Royal Engineers. Lee and his family have operated Passing Paws from Neerabup since 2014, building a strong connection with the veteran and defence communities.
“As a veteran myself, I am proud that Passing Paws is partnering with RSL WA. The veteran community means a great deal to me, and it is a privilege to give something back to RSL WA members and their families,” Lee said.
RSL WA Partnerships Manager Jamie Thomas also acknowledged Passing Paws’ long-standing commitment to the defence community in the original partnership announcement.
“Passing Paws has shown a long-standing commitment to the defence community, from military working dogs through to the families who love their pets. Partnering with a veteran-owned WA business that shares our values was an easy decision, and we’re pleased to bring this benefit to our members,” Jamie said.
For many who have served, a dog is not simply a pet
Our connection with the defence community extends to the animals that serve alongside its members. Passing Paws has worked with defence animals and has been a committed supporter of military working dogs and their end-of-life arrangements.
We recognise the important service these animals provide alongside ADF members and understand the significance of ensuring they are farewelled with care, dignity and respect.
As Lee explains:
“For a lot of people who have served, a dog is not simply a pet. Some are working dogs, some are assistance dogs, and for many they are the steadiest thing in the house. Our role is to support families through one of the hardest moments they will face, and to make sure their pet is farewelled with the care, dignity and respect they deserve. The way we say goodbye matters.”

As part of the 12-month partnership, RSL WA members receive 15% off Passing Paws services.
