The passing paws team provides a personalised service at the time you need it the most.
Lee and Rachel – Owners
Lee is the Managing Director and Joint Owner of Passing Paws Pet Cremations with wife, Rachel. I (Lee) served in the Royal Engineers for 6 years before opening Passing Paws Pet Cremations with my wife Rachel in 2014. Rachel’s background is in Mental Health Nursing and her skills and caring nature have helped create a wonderful culture of compassion and empathy at Passing Paws. We are owned by two rescue dogs, Rodney and Russell, who were adopted in Perth after moving from the UK. Thanks to Rachel being a self-confessed crazy cat lady we also have 4 beautiful felines: Reenie, Romilee, Rufus and Betty. We founded Passing Paws Pet Cremations after losing a number of our beloved pets. I had to say goodbye to Benji, my first loyal companion, and recently Rory, the spunkiest cat you could ever meet. Rachel is still working through the grief of losing Brian, Rosie, Jessica and Dorothy. With our own personal experiences in mind we wanted to create something unique, providing a personalised service that is respectful and compassionate at the time you need it the most. You’ll often find us taking the dogs exploring around Perth especially enjoying our stunning beaches. With the birth of our little girl Emmi we are slowly getting used to family life and spending as much time soaking in her cute baby months before she is outrunning us!
Tegan – Crematorium Operator
I was born with a huge love of animals. I was lucky enough to work at my family’s adoption centre from a young age, adopting out pound animals or privately surrendered pets.
I have also worked with horses most of my life and I’m currently working hard on assisting Passing Paws with providing our services for Horses. As with Dogs and Cats, these guys play a huge part in our lives as well and therefore need the same sort of caring service we provide for small animals. My free time is spent with my daughter and partner, either riding our horses, hiking with the pooch or lazy days in front of the TV. I have 2 cats, 1 dog, 3 rabbits and 2 horses. My pets are family and family means everything to me.
Ryan – Pet Care Specialist
I was born in England and moved to Perth with my family in 2010. I have been lucky enough to have dogs whilst growing up and currently have Sam, the Springer Spaniel, who is turning 14. I play football in my spare time and we are still enjoying exploring around WA, it’s a beautiful place. At Passing Paws I look after the pets in our care from Collection to Home Delivery. I feel a huge responsibility towards the pets in our care and I hope that my care for your beloved pets can be felt in the service I give you.
Danise – Office Administator
Hi, I’m Danise! I look after your pet’s engraving and urn details and you may even chat to me when I’m helping you through the devastating loss of your beloved pet. I have always been a massive lover of animals from since I can remember. We have always had dogs – generally rescued either from homes where they are no longer wanted or adopted from an organisation. I’m a big fan of natural and alternative therapies and am able to work with/use them on humans and animals.
I’ve raised 2 boys who also share my love for pets, both kids are very confident with animals and love being foster carers! My personal interests include bush walking, meditation, cooking, sewing, lazy days at the beach or water park with my family of course.
Edith – Business Operations
Lucky to have grown up surrounded by animals, it was clear from a young age that my life would revolve around pets. I was halfway through my Bachelor degree when I realised I was a crazy dog lady at heart. You’d find me walking my local shelter dogs at every opportunity and then I began my fostering journey taking on many special needs and palliative care pets over the last 8 years. I am owned by Dibley, a mastiff x who is turning 8 in May. She’s the best dog in the world, of course! My heart is owned by my beautiful Jakk, a Boxer x Dogue, who passed away in August 2017 and Vera, a 17 yr Labrador blend, who passed a few months later. My kids are my world and losing two so close together has given me a heartbreakingly unique insight into being in a similar position as our lovely customers. I hope I can ease the pain and heartbreak the same way I was supported through this awful time.
